How To Score by Robin Wells

HER LIFE COACH

Museum curator Sammi Matthews isn't just in a dating slump, she's putting men on the injured list. After giving one date a black eye and cracking another's rib, Sammi decides she needs professional help. Enter life coach Luke Jones, who advises Sammi on how to overcome her klutziness. And their phone sessions work! Sammi soon meets a sexy FBI agent who seems to know just what she needs.

IS CHANGING HER LIFE

When his brother Luke goes into federal protection, FBI Special Agent Chase Jones agrees to cover for him. Then Sammi's hot voice sizzles down the line, and the usual "phone only" rule is out. With "Luke" coaching her by day, and Chase dating her by night, Sammi's confidence soars, along with her appeal. Chase falls hard, but how will Sammi feel if and when he comes clean? Chase would rather she break all his bones than risk breaking her heart.

IN WAYS SHE'S NEVER IMAGINED!

my thoughts:
This book was Laugh Out Loud funny! The incidents Sammi causes with Chase are hysterical! I just felt so sorry for Sammi because she is so on edge, waiting on the next "incident" to happen and I felt sorry for Chase, just because you know something's coming!
Robin Wells has created a whole cast of characters to enjoy. The subplots are easy to follow, I felt sorry for Sammi's landlord, Walter. Anger & sympathy toward Arlene. And looked forward to "rappin" Horace! You care about what happens with these guys, just as much as how Sammi & Chase's story end. That is what a good book does. It's a whole fantastic family of characters.
This was a quick (I read it in about 4 hours) , easy read.

my suggestion:
This would be a great book to take on vacation! Especially if you read, while someone else drives. Take it to the beach. Take it anywhere!

My favorite line...

I just had to share this one line from Julie & Julia (I started reading this book this morning). This is one of the funniest lines I've read in a long time (well, except one from "Prey" but I can't tell you what it is!)!

Julie writes:

Please understand- I love my husband like a pig loves shit. Maybe even more.

That line cracked me up...I had to go back and read it 4 times! I am luvin' this book!

Eternal Craving by Nina Bangs

THE ELEVEN—an alliance of ultimate predators. Primal, lethal, irresistible.
THE PROPHECY—an ancient Mayan prediction that the world will end on 12-21-12.
THE PREY—where can you hide from pure evil?

Lies. He’s been promised a new life as the hunter he once was. But Al soon learns that all the rules have changed. Now he must control his most basic urges—the need to kill, to feed, to mate. And the woman he wants looks at him with both heat and fear in her eyes. Jenna Maloy doesn’t buy the story that he’s come to Philadelphia to save souls. She seems to see through the layers of deception to the primitive heart of him. With her beside him, Al stalks the dark forces that crouch in the city’s night shadows. But the real battle rages in his heart. Love is a formidable opponent. How can he ask her to stay with him after she’s seen the savagery of his beast? He only knows that if she turns from him he’ll be cursed with an Eternal Craving.
Eleven Gods of the Night…The only creatures more deadly are the ones they’ve been summoned to destroy.

my thoughts:

WOW! I really had fun reading this book! It started a little slow (for me), but when it picked up, whoa! Did it ever pick up! This is the second book in the "Gods Of Night" series by Nina Bangs, and I can't wait to read the rest.

There was something about Al that made my heart go "THUMPITY THUMP THUMP", it might have been his long dark hair, or it might have been his loner attitude, whatever it was, I am a huge AL fan now. I had not read Nina Bangs prior to reading "Eternal Pleasure" but I can't wait to read the rest of the series! The interaction between Al & Jenna was very well written and played well.

This book was a quick fun read, where I got to know some of the other character's a little more than I did in Eternal Pleasure, and that was great.

My suggestion:
If you're planning to collect the whole series (like me), buy it. If not, go to the library or UBS to get it.

I'm doing my Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy Dance...

Woohoo! I think I've got my computer up and running at home!! I still have a couple of things to do tonight when I get in to check, but I think it will work! Which means...I'll be able to do more than just do a quick post here and there on my breaks at work, I won't have to come in early to post...my blogging life might be a little easier. And maybe that means better posts too! Woohoo!
