I began writing the way so many writers do—the moment I learned to wield a pencil. But even as a child, I didn't write "kid" stories. I preferred something more dramatic. Something that didn't include Dick, Jane, and a dog named Spot. I wanted my characters to be named Dracula and my dogs to have names like White Fang or Cujo. I'll always have my parents to thank for that. They never censored my reading material (though I suspect that if they had truly known what was between the covers of some of the books, they'd have been a little more careful,) so when other girls my age were reading Laura Ingalls Wilder and Judy Blume, I was immersing myself in Stephen King and Dean Koontz.
Later, after I'd joined the Air Force and was in dire need of something to read between shifts at the weather station, I continued to read horror, but I'd branched out into fantasy, and then, finally, romance (though I admit I went kicking and screaming to the latter.)
Turned out that I loved romance! So I started writing it, but again, my style and voice leaned toward the dark, paranormal side. Fortunately for me, paranormal romance, as a sub-genre, was booming. I let my imagination fly, and soon I'd sold a series of dark, sexy paranormal romances to Grand Central Publishing.
I still read a lot of horror, science fiction, and fantasy, and in fact, one of my all time favorite books about writing is On Writing, by my favorite childhood horror author, Stephen King. If you're an author or a reader, I highly recommend this book for an insight into an author's mind—which can sometimes be a very scary place.

I'm one of those writers who always knew that she wanted to be a writer. It took me a while, however, to figure out precisely what I wanted to write. Reading Kathleen Woodwiss' "A Rose in Winter" sealed the deal for me and I've been reading and writing romance ever since. I should have known I was destined for this when my Barbies insisted on hosting elaborate masquerade parties, complete with stolen kisses in the moonlight.
I'm the youngest of three children, so of course I'm the favorite. I was raised in central Texas, in the beautiful Hill Country, right smack-dab between Austin and San Antonio. My parents were high school sweethearts and married a week after my mother graduated – they both needed their parents' permission to marry since they were so young. So I blame them and their amazing marriage for the fact that I'm a hopeless romantic.
Somewhere along the line, I graduated from college with a degree in Sociology, only after completing an internship with none other than award-winning author, Pamela Morsi. It was one of the coolest experiences of my life and I learned more about the writing business than I could have hoped.
After college I worked a myriad of jobs: Computer Software Trainer, Recruiter, Administrative Assistant. But no matter what my day job, I come home to my real job and click, click, click away on my computer and get lost in my imaginary world where justice always prevails and the girl always gets her guy! It's the coolest job in the world.
I'm married to the most amazingly supportive man who makes me laugh every day. He's so proud of my career, and loves to tell people, "My wife is a romance novelist." We live in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, where my husband is a university professor.
We have two very spoiled cats who are of no help at all when it comes to my writing, although they sometimes nap in the same room where I sit diligently working.
After writing for seven years I sold my first book to Avon in 2004 and Courting Claudia was released in 2005. I had three other releases with Avon and have recently moved to Grand Central Publishing and am awaiting my first release with them. Her grandfather was City Attorney of Salinas for 36 years after serving two terms as District Attorney, and two of her ancestors were State Supreme Court Justices (one in Missouri, the other the first Supreme Court Justice for the State of Arkansas). One brother, having carried on the Scott tradition in the Monterey County DA’s office, is now a judge. The other is an electrician in Knoxville, TN, and her sister is a teacher in the Sacramento area.

The women of Amanda Scott’s family have been no less successful than the men. Her mother was a child actress known as Baby Lowell, who performed all over the west coast and in Hollywood movies, and then was a dancer with the San Francisco Opera Ballet until her marriage. Her mother’s sister, Loretta Lowell, was also a child actress. She performed in the Our Gang comedies and in several Loretta Young movies before becoming one of the first women in the US Air Force. Scott's paternal grandmother was active in local and State politics and served as president of the California State PTA, and her maternal grandmother was a teacher (and stage mother) before working for Monterey County. The place of women in Scott’s family has always been a strong one. Though they married strong men, the women have, for generations, been well educated and encouraged to succeed at whatever they chose to do.

Amanda Scott’s first book was OMAHA CITY ARCHITECTURE, a coffee-table photo essay on the historical architecture of Omaha, written for Landmarks, Inc. under her married name as a Junior League project. Others took the photos; she did the research and wrote the text on an old Smith-Corona portable electric. She sold her first novel, THE FUGITIVE HEIRESS—likewise written on the battered Smith-Corona in 1980. Since then, she has sold many more books, but since the second one she has used a word processor and computer. Twenty-five of her novels are set in the English Regency period (1810-1820). Others are set in 15th-century England and 14th- through 18th-century Scotland, and three are contemporary romances. Many of her titles are currently available at bookstores and online.

my thoughts~
Highland Master starts out with a bloody battle and finishes with purr! I do love me some braw Highlander laddies and Fin of the Battles rates right up there on my list! The interaction between all of the characters was great, although I wonder if, in 1401 families weren't more, I don't know, severe (maybe?) with their unwed children. Especially unwed daughters and sisters. Because Catriona did come across as BUT. I wouldn't want to read about a girl who watched her tongue and was a simpering fool, or who was outspoken but beaten on a regular basis because of it. Just my opinion. But I will tell you this, I enjoyed Highland Master and look forward to the next book, Highland Hero, due out in October!

my thoughts~
I really, really enjoyed Seduced by Destiny! It was fast paced, entertaining, had great character interactions and some steamy love scenes, what wasn't to love? Kira Morgan has created a tale that captures you from the beginning and you find yourself rooting for Drew & Jossy!  While this was the first book that I've read by Kira Morgan, believe me when I say, it will not be my last!

YUMMY! This book is just YUMMY! Once I started reading Knight of Passion, I did not put it down! I love Jamie, or rather, Sir James Rayburn! And his strong minded, stronger willed woman, Lady Linnet! Oh what a joy she was to read!I could go on & on, but then it would be filled with spoilers, but I will say this:
trying to have a life with Lady Linnet is not easy for Jamie!

my thoughts~
So, I'm late (really, really late) with my review. It was due on March 31st. So here it is:
I read this book in a day, I just couldn't put it down once I started. I will just come out and say it. I did not like Elyse at all. I thought she was selfish & I don't know, immoral maybe? I'm not sure what word I want to use to describe her. She did remind me to remember: no matter how great somethings look from the outside, it doesn't mean that they ARE great! Or maybe that no matter how great some people have it, they still aren't happy with what they have? I think that each reader will take something different away from this story. And that is what I think makes it great!

my thoughts~
When I first began reading 'Montana Legacy', I immediately fell in love with the story line. 3 handsome cousins, best friends from birth, looking for a lost treasure. I was NOT disappointed with Jesse & Amy's story. Ms. Ryan has created a cast of characters that make me want to head to Montana just to see if I can find them! LOL! I look forward to reading the next in the series-'Montana Destiny', which will be Marilee & Wyatt's story and it will be released in May! Not such a long wait, huh?

Hold onto your seats boys & girls! This book will take you on a ride you will not soon forget! This was the first Ted Dekkar book that I've read, but I've already added a couple more to my TBR pile! I love his style of writing, the plot was fantastic and I look forward to reading more & more from this author!! If you like a great thriller, then you really need to read this book!

I began my writing career at age five with a number of lavishly illustrated Westerns, which were lovingly preserved for posterity by my first fan (Thanks, Mom!) As you can see, I believe in immersing myself in the mood and character of my stories!
I have since moved on to Regency England, an era that has fascinated me ever since I picked up a copy of Jane Austen’s Pride And Prejudice. (Sorry, no picture of me in my ballgown and tiara!)
Books have always been an important part of my life. I’ve always been a voracious reader, and I’ve always had a very vivid imagination . . . so much so that I think at times it worried my parents that I was so happy in my own little world, drawing pictures and creating stories. My teachers will also tell you that I was the class history geek, even in grade school. I don’t really know why, but I have always been fascinated with the past.
As an undergrad at Yale, I majored in art and went on to get a MFA in Graphic Design. So storytelling got put on the back burner for a while. But The Muse kept whispering in my ear, and one day I sat down at the keyboard . . . and realized that writing is what I love.

I really enjoyed reading this book! Lady Ciara is accused of murdering her husband while the Earl of Hadley is only interested in having "fun" (yep, I'm wagging my eyebrows up & down! You know what kind of fun he's interested in!!). So the two come to an arrangement to help each other.

To Sin With A Scoundrel is the first book of what I think will be a great series!

I'm already looking forward to the second book in the series~ To Surrender To A Rogue. It will be available June 2010!!

Funny, but... I never set out to write books that made people laugh. My main love has always been literary fiction, and the first book I completed (which has yet to be published) was a collection of serious short stories. However, even with my darkest work, people would always tell me that parts of it were funny. This annoyed me because I aspired to be an American Dostoevsky with Breasts. But in 1999, I took a writers' workshop at the Bethesda Writers' Center. The first story I submitted was a heartbreaking tale of a man's addiction, which impressed the class. The second was an absurd story about mistaken identity full of Jews, Rastafarians, and dental hygienists. To my great irritation, the class liked this one infinitely more.After class, a man pulled me aside. "I have to tell you," he said. "My wife has been battling breast cancer. I read her your story last night, and it was the first time in two years she really laughed. You've got a gift. Please don't ignore it. Not everyone can make a sick woman laugh in her hospital bed." That's when I finally saw the merit in my own, lurking smart-ass and stopped fighting it.

2 Crazy Girls!! It takes 2 Crazy girls to backpack through China at the tender age of 21! I found this to be a funny, inspiring and emotional read. Inspiring as in, expand your comfort zone, get out there and try new things. NOT go to China! My suggestion-read it. You won't be disappointed!!

Well, I completely missed RION that is the second book in the Pendragon Legacy Trilogy (darn it!) while I was recouperating from my hospitalizations in October & November. And even though I missed Rion, I really enjoyed Jordan. It was a great book that I thought stood alone quit well. I am sure that reading Rion would enhance Jordan, I don't think I missed anything in Jordan because I didn't read Rion (which I will be reading soon!).
I really enjoyed reading Vivianne & Jordan story!

Sexy. Fun. EROTIC. If someone said that I could only use three words to describe this book, those would be my three words. I am planning on picking up 'Bound to Please' and any other book Lilli Feisty writes! I loved Joy and how messy she was. I loved Ash and how he took care of his family.

I began writing the way so many writers do—the moment I learned to wield a pencil. But even as a child, I didn't write "kid" stories. I preferred something more dramatic. Something that didn't include Dick, Jane, and a dog named Spot. I wanted my characters to be named Dracula and my dogs to have names like White Fang or Cujo. I'll always have my parents to thank for that. They never censored my reading material (though I suspect that if they had truly known what was between the covers of some of the books, they'd have been a little more careful,) so when other girls my age were reading Laura Ingalls Wilder and Judy Blume, I was immersing myself in Stephen King and Dean Koontz.
Later, after I'd joined the Air Force and was in dire need of something to read between shifts at the weather station, I continued to read horror, but I'd branched out into fantasy, and then, finally, romance (though I admit I went kicking and screaming to the latter.)
Turned out that I loved romance! So I started writing it, but again, my style and voice leaned toward the dark, paranormal side. Fortunately for me, paranormal romance, as a sub-genre, was booming. I let my imagination fly, and soon I'd sold a series of dark, sexy paranormal romances to Grand Central Publishing.
I still read a lot of horror, science fiction, and fantasy, and in fact, one of my all time favorite books about writing is On Writing, by my favorite childhood horror author, Stephen King. If you're an author or a reader, I highly recommend this book for an insight into an author's mind—which can sometimes be a very scary place.

my review~ I finished this book in less than 12 hours. Once I picked it up, I had a really hard time putting it down! Larissa Ione has created a world that centers around demons, angels, vampires, yippee!!! 'Ecstasy Unveiled' is book 4 in the series and luckily for Larissa's fans, it isn't going to be the last! I haven't had the chance to pick up the first 3 (Pleasure Unbound, Desire Unchained and Passion Unleashed) but these 3 books will be in my hot little hands by the end of the day!
